At SOMA Cultura, we believe in the transformative power of the arts and their ability to unite people from diverse backgrounds.
Our mission is clear: to enable and empower migrant artists in Portugal to pursue their creative interests, collaborate with local artists and institutions, and build bridges within communities - strengthening the social fabric of an already diverse society. Our approach relies on three pillars - cross-cultural collaborations, community engagement, and training & skill development.
Driven by our mission we have organised events in collaboration with many venues all around Lisbon and established partnerships with several institutions that have witnessed our work so far and believe in the projects that we started. We are excited to get these projects started, and that is why your support is so valuable.
Support one of our projects
Música em Bairros
This project takes music from diverse cultures to communities facing higher barriers to cultural participation in the outskirts of Lisbon while providing professional performing opportunities for underrepresented artists. We will launch 16 free concerts in partnership with 6 nonprofit organizations with the aim of decentralizing and diversifying the cultural offering to a wider audience.

Creative Compass
We will design and launch four free workshops to provide training and support to migrant and refugee artists, fostering their self-reliance and enabling them to pursue their creative interests. This includes career development, facilitating professional content creation, and navigating the music space. Key trainers will include successful artists, festival managers, promoters, producers, funding organization representatives, and social media experts.

One artist’s participation in all 4 workshop sessions - 400€
One artist’s participation in 1 workshop session - 100€
Community Supporter
Pay 20€ for a free entry for someone in the local community to come to a Música em Barrios.
Concert supporter
Contribute 50€ towards an artist’s cachet.
Artist Patron
Contribute 100€ towards an artist’s participation in Creative Compass.
The Impact Your Support Will Have
These projects will build the much-needed infrastructure that supports newcomer artists while fostering open and creative spaces for intercultural dialogue, thus contributing to bridging cultural barriers and creating opportunities for powerful encounters between artists and communities from different backgrounds.
